CEMEX USA receives fleet safety award

May 24, 2011 11:02 AM

CEMEX USA announced that its California-based truck fleet was recently awarded the 2011 Fleet Safety Award from the California Trucking Association (CTA). Through this award, the CTA recognizes CEMEX USA as the safest bulk pneumatic carrier in California. The fleet, comprised of 18 tractor trailer trucks and their drivers, logged more than 1.5 million miles without a reportable incident.

The fleet regularly transports bulk cement, fly ash, and gypsum and is managed from CEMEX USA’s operations in Victorville CA. The fleet has passed all inspections carried out by the California Highway Patrol over the past four years.

“CEMEX is honored to be recognized as one of California’s safest carriers,” said Karl Watson Jr, president of CEMEX USA. “At CEMEX, safety is a top priority, and this achievement was made possible by our fleet team’s ongoing commitment to safety and dedication to excellence.”
