Renewable fuels producers asking their jobbers to register with EPA

Renewable fuels producers are now asking their jobber/blenders to register with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a blender and participate in a credit trading program, according to information from the Petroleum Marketers Association of America (PMAA).
PMAA said in its Weekly Review that after Sept 1, 2007, producers will be attaching credits (called RINs) to some of their gallons and they want more jobber/blenders to accept and own those RINs. The EPA's Renewable Fuels Standard was mandated by Congress under the Energy Policy Act of 2005. Theoretically, some refiners will want to purchase RINs from jobbers to meet the national mandate.
