ArvinMeritor to Supply Products for MRAPs

ArvinMeritor Inc has been selected by International Military and Government LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of International Truck & Engine Corp, to supply 1,200 vehicle sets of front and rear drive axles with brakes and transfer cases. These products are for a new generation of armored personnel carriers for the United States military — the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle (Category 1).
ArvinMeritor's front drive steer axle, the MX-18-120HR with a new heavy-retardation 120 axle carrier; the RS-23-160 widetrack rear drive axle; and the MTC-4210 transfer case are a proven commercial drivetrain and all-wheel-drive system.
