Trimble Navigation to acquire @Road

Trimble Navigation Ltd, Sunnyvale CA, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire @Road Inc, Fremont CA.
@Road is a provider of solutions designed to automate the management of mobile resources and to optimize service delivery process for customers across a variety of industries. The company provides mobile resource management in field force management, field service management and field asset management. Trimble solutions are focused on applications requiring position or location—including surveying, construction, agriculture, fleet and asset management, public safety, and mapping. In addition to utilizing positioning technologies, such as GPS, lasers and optics, Trimble solutions typically include significant software content specific to the needs of the user.
