www.qualcomm.comFleetAdvisor is enhanced

Jan 1, 2003 12:00 PM

Qualcomm Inc has announced version 5.1 of the FleetAdvisor system, which includes support for 802.11b wireless Local Area Network (LAN), fleet status exception monitoring, and expanded web-enabled functionality.

FleetAdvisor's support for 802.11b technology allows companies with private fleets to leverage existing network technology and transfer large data files wirelessly when fleet vehicles are on location. Commonly referred to as Wi-Fi, 802.11b is a wireless LAN technology that allows data transfer speeds of up to 11 megabits per second (Mbps). FleetAdvisor 5.1 includes support for this technology so companies using Qualcomm's MVPc in-vehicle computer equipped with a wireless LAN card can quickly and inexpensively transfer large amounts of data.
