Larson launches new Class 1 Division 1 explosion-proof drop light for hazardous locations

July 22, 2014

Industrial lighting specialist Larson Electronics rolled out its newly designed Class 1 Division 1 explosion proof drop light. This drop light is ideal for general close work and inspection activities in hazardous locations requiring explosion-proof protection.

The EPL-DL-12-25-1523 explosion proof drop light from Larson Electronics is designed to operate on 12-volt current and comes complete with 25’ of 16/3 SOOW cord ending in a 15-amp explosion proof plug. The drop light housing is constructed of aluminum with a rubber bumper guard designed to provide an effective lighting solution for operators requiring a versatile source of illumination. The housing is equipped with a swivel hook for hanging and hands free operation.

This hazardous-location hand lamp is Class 1, Division 1 approved and equipped with a 100-watt incandescent bulb. The drop light is ideal for hazardous work areas where a ready source of easily managed lighting is desired and is suitable for use in areas where petrochemical vapors and various dusts are present. The explosion-proof drop light operates on 12 volts AC or DC. This unit is not equipped with an inline transformer; therefore the operator must have a 12-volt low-voltage power source to run this light.
