Starting in May 2010, Volvo Trucks North America takes its message of maximized efficiency and productivity on the road with the 2010 Driving Success Tour.

Fleet managers and owner-operators across the United States and Canada will experience a Volvo VN780 outfitted with advanced production technology, including an EPA2010-certified Volvo D13 engine with Volvo I-Shift automated manual transmission (AMT). The Volvo VN, staffed with product experts, will visit Volvo Truck dealerships across North America to educate customers how to maximize fuel economy, drive productivity, and reduce costs.

In addition to EPA’10 technology and I-Shift, the Driving Success Tour’s VN780 is outfitted with a host of fuel-saving technologies, including wide-base tires, a battery-powered bunk air-conditioning system, and full aerodynamic fairings, including Volvo’s adjustable trim tabs.

The tractor also is equipped with safety systems, such as the recently introduced Volvo Enhanced Cruise (VEC) system. VEC is an advanced collision avoidance technology that works with a truck’s cruise control to maintain a safe following distance between vehicles. It also can automatically slow the truck with the engine and foundation brakes to maintain a set following distance, while at the same time alerting the driver to potential danger.

The 2010 Driving Success Tour will kick off in the western United States in May and travel to other US and Canadian regions through summer and fall. More information is provided at www.volvotour2010.com or by calling 1-800-444-RSVP.
