WABCO displays MAXX brake technology

Sep 26, 2012 10:55 AM

WABCO Holdings Inc showcased its MAXX air disc brake technology—a new range of single-piston braking products for trucks, buses, and trailers worldwide—at IAA Commercial Vehicles 2012 in Hanover Germany, recently.

MAXX includes MAXXUS 22 for trucks and buses in North America, which is based on single-piston MAXX 22 technology that the company pioneered in Europe. As previously disclosed, MAXX 22 and MAXXUS 22 have been adopted by globally operating original equipment manufacturers in series production such as MAN in Europe and Daimler Trucks North America, respectively.

The MAXX range also introduces WABCO’s new and improved MAXX 22T, which is specially designed for trailers and is being adopted for series production in 2013 by one of Europe’s largest manufacturers of commercial trailers. MAXX 22T further improves the weight-performance ratio of WABCO’s single-piston PAN trailer braking technology.

MAXX reduces the vehicle’s overall weight, boosting fuel efficiency and enabling more payload. MAXX 22 is also best-in-class for reliability. MAXX 17 and MAXX 19 are specially engineered for light- and medium-duty trucks. WABCO is sole supplier for 17- and 19-inch MAXX air disc brake applications for series production in 2013 at a global manufacturer of commercial vehicles headquartered in Europe.
