The aftermarket business unit of Webb Wheel Products Inc, Cullman AL, has entered into a strategic alliance with TMD Friction to couple brake drums and friction linings, according to Webb information.

TMD Friction Group is a manufacturer of brake friction materials in the original equipment market of the automotive and brake industry. The company's product portfolio comprises disc brake pads and drum brake linings for passenger cars and commercial vehicles together with brake pads for racing and friction materials for industry. TMD Friction also supplies the global aftermarket with TEXTAR, PAGID, MINTEX, DON, COBREQ and COSID brands.

With manufacturing facilities in Germany and other European countries, the USA, Brazil, Mexico, China, Japan, and Malaysia, TMD Friction generates a turnover of 662 million euros (US$972 million) and employs 4,400 people worldwide, according to the Webb information.
