Truck Driver Appreciation Week

Aug 1, 2009 12:00 PM

The American Trucking Associations announced the dates for National Truck Driver Appreciation Week (NTDAW) 2009, which celebrates the 3.5 million professional truck drivers delivering across the nation every day.

NTDAW 2009 will take place November 1-7, marking a shift from previous years. These dates coincide with the start of the holiday shipping season. Events will take place to honor the professional driver and remind the public that everything they rely on daily is delivered by a truck driver

There are more than 3.5 million professional truck drivers nationwide. Logging more than 432 billion miles per year, trucks delivered 10.7 billion tons of freight in 2007, or 69 percent of total U.S. freight tonnage. Visit www.ntdaw.org to learn more.
