Extended-coverage plans for Cummins engines are offered with the purchase of a new Class 8 Peterbilt vehicle, Peterbilt Motors Co said. Three optional plans — one for over-the-road customers and two for vocational customers — cover all models of Cummins engines available for Peterbilt heavy-duty vehicles.
These extended-coverage plans are provided:
The five-year or 500,000-mile protection plan for over-the-road customers that provides 100% parts-and-labor coverage on all major components of Cummins ISM, N14E+, ISX, and Signature engines. Major components include engine block, cylinder head casting, crankshaft, camshaft and intake manifold. Additionally, unscheduled maintenance costs are also fully covered during the first three years or 300,000 miles. Components covered for unscheduled maintenance include fuel injectors, fuel pump, water pump, turbocharger, and air compressor.
The five-year or 150,000-mile coverage plan for vocational customers that fully covers parts and labor costs for all ISL, ISM, and N14E+ engine parts except maintenance components.
The seven-year or 250,000-mile coverage plan for vocational customers that fully covers parts and labor costs for all ISL, ISM, and N14E+ engine parts except maintenance components.
Plans are available for Peterbilt Models 387, 385, 379, 378, 362, 357, and 320, and must be purchased within six months of purchase of the vehicle.
