Fleets: Test-drive Bendix advanced ABS

Jun 1, 2005 12:00 PM

Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC has scheduled multiple demonstrations of its advanced antilock braking system technology across the United States in 2005.

These “Ride and Drive” events enable individuals to get behind the wheel of a tractor-trailer to experience Bendix ABS-6 Advanced with the ESP electronic stability program, capable of detecting a vehicle's impending loss of stability before the driver senses it. The system automatically intervenes by selectively applying tractor and trailer brakes as well as by reducing the engine throttle. Responding to both low- and high-friction surface stability scenarios, the system can mitigate jackknifing, loss of control, and rollovers.

Fleets interested in reserving a spot at upcoming Ride and Drive demos or viewing a full schedule of dates and locations are encouraged to phone Patricia Ryavec at Bendix at 440-329-9294 or e-mail her at patricia.ryavec@bendix.com. Upcoming demos in 2005 include:

  • June 7 — Minneapolis/St Paul MN
  • June 15 — Las Vegas NV
  • June 21 — San Francisco CA
