The board of directors of Schneider National Inc has elected Christopher B Lofgren president and chief executive officer and has appointed him to the board. He succeeds Donald J Schneider and becomes the third leader of the transportation and logistics company. Schneider will continue as chairman of the board.

Quality Distribution Inc (QDI) announced that Randy Sheeler was named senior vice-president — operations for QDI's primary transportation subsidiary, Quality Carriers. He formerly was regional vice-president for the Mid-Atlantic region.

Joseph P Pirozzi has been promoted to assistant vice-president — North American domestic sales for CSX Intermodal. He most recently served as assistant vice-president — Eastern domestic sales. Fred E Weber, most recently senior account executive, has been promoted to director of sales — Western Region.
