Quality Distribution Inc (QDI) and its primary operating subsidiary Quality Carriers have announced that Michael A Grimm has been appointed to the newly created role of executive vice-president — business development. He most recently was responsible for administration of the Affiliate Relations Department.

First Fleet Corp has promoted Kirk Rutherford to vice-president — fleet services. An industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience, he joined First Fleet in 1996 as director of fleet services.

Coal City Cob Co Inc has named Russell Landry safety director. He previously spent more than 20 years with Trimac/DSI in various safety and operational positions. Mike Ditta joined Coal City in January 2003 as terminal manager for the La Porte TX facility. Ditta has 25-plus years of operational experience in the Houston area with Trimac/DSI. Terry Rodery has been named Coal City's regional sales manager for the Southwest. Rodery has more than 20 years in the tank truck industry, most recently with Triad Transport. Larry Choate has joined Coal City as Avalon TX terminal manager. He has 20 years of experience in the industry, most recently with Tidewater Transit.
