Cummins on Track for 2002 Compliance

Jun 1, 2001 12:00 PM

In meetings with the Environmental Protection Agency, representatives of Cummins Inc have confirmed the firm's commitment to meet the 2002 deadline to produce lower-emissions engines as outlined in a consent decree Cummins signed in 1998.

Four other engine manufacturers also signed similar consent decrees.

Cummins says it is poised to be the first United States engine manufacturer to meet the lower standards. These will result in an additional 38% reduction in oxides of nitrogen emissions from current emissions standards for all on-highway products.
