Cat will offer Euro IV-compliant engines

Caterpillar will provide a range of Euro IV-compliant engines with ACERT technology for the on-highway truck and bus markets. The engines- — which include the C7, C9, C13, and C15 — are in development and will be available in September 2006 to meet the new Euro IV emissions regulations to be implemented in Europe for heavy-duty trucks.

Models and ratings expected to be supplied for Euro IV range from 190 to 625 horsepower (142 to 466 kilowatts). Performance, installation and application data will be available in fourth-quarter 2005. OEM fit-up engines are expected to be provided for the European market during third-quarter 2005. Expanded ratings for Euro III engines will also be available in 2005. Additionally, Caterpillar will provide a range of engines that are compliant with Euro V regulations in 2008.
