Bendix, parent give to tsunami victims

Mar 1, 2005 12:00 PM

Bendlx Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC and the Knorr-Bremse Group, its European parent organization, together will donate more than $26 million for projects to aid in the massive tsunami relief efforts in South Asia.

Bendix matched employee contributions to the American Red Cross International Response Fund dollar-for-dollar across its North American operations through Feb 1, 2005, as well as making a corporate donation. Knorr-Bremse, which operates facilities in India and South Asia but not in the affected area, is contributing financial assistance through the newly established Knorr-Bremse Global Care organization, a non-profit foundation to help people in need worldwide.
