Truck dealers give
Peterbilt 384 top honor

American Truck Dealers (ATD) named the Peterbilt Model 384 as the “2010 ATD Commercial Truck of the Year” during its 2010 annual Convention and Exposition in Orlando FL.

Chosen by a judging panel of journalists from truck publications in North America, the Model 384 was selected due to its superior design and features. The Model 384 offers customer value and includes new proprietary aerodynamic features to maximize fuel efficiency and contemporary interiors for more efficient operation. The Model 384 is Peterbilt's most versatile performer, ideal for regional, short- and long-haul routes, with the power to handle heavy payloads.

The Model 384 has been recognized as fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly by the Environmental Protection Agency's SmartWay program. This truck provides is also offered with natural gas configurations as an environmentally friendly power platform. The Model 384's aerodynamic package provides fuel efficiency gains of up to 12% and drag reduction of 24%.

The lightweight Model 384 features a 116" BBC, and a full range of heavy-duty suspension, brake, and drivetrain options suited for tanker, pick-up and delivery, and short-haul applications. This truck is available with Peterbilt's SmartSound package that provides a comfortable environment for the driver with both acoustic and thermal insulating properties. The new package reduces noise by up to 50%.
