Mack Trucks Inc has received an order for 18 more Mack Vision Elite model tractors from the US Army TACOM Life Cycle Management Command. The order is valued at $2.4 million and includes 35-ton lowboy trailers for each tractor.

This order is the second to be placed by TACOM as part of a three-year, $28.5 million contract that calls for a total of 152 Vision Elite models. TACOM has taken delivery of 80 Vision Elite tractors so far this year, along with trailers. The Vision Elite models were assembled at the New River Valley Plant in Dublin VA and have 70-inch high-rise sleepers.

Mack also delivered 12 Mack Granite Elite tractor models to TACOM earlier this year. These trucks are part of a three-year $8.6 million contract to provide 66 Granite Elite models. In addition, two Granite Elite straight trucks have been outfitted for TACOM with Jerr-Dan HDL 600/350 30-ton integrated wrecker bodies, for use in severe-service, heavy-duty towing and recovery operations. The Granite Elites were assembled at the Mack Macungie Assembly Operations plant outside of Allentown PA.
