Haldex Commercial Vehicle Systems announces the production of its two millionth brake shoe at a New Generation Friction Center. The firm has updated four friction centers with a progressive manufacturing process that includes new equipment upgrades and a 30-point inspection procedure to ensure product quality.

These production upgrades has led to many significant process and quality improvements:

• A 100% increase in reline capacity.

• Improved paint processing ensures that each shoe is sealed with premium corrosion protection.

• New hydraulic riveters and regular torque testing eliminate the possibility of loose rivets.

• Automated processes and a lean production layout decrease product transfer time and reduce work in process inventory, which ultimately lessens turnaround time and helps lower customer costs.
