Price of diesel fuel drops
for fourth week in a row

The average price of a gallon of diesel fuel nationwide fell for the fourth straight week, declining 1.2 cents to $2.775 a gallon, according to US Department of Energy information.

Despite the decrease, diesel is 16 cents higher than the same week in 2008. The price of trucking’s main fuel has fallen 3.3 cents in the past month, compared with the previous four weeks, in which it rose 22.6 cents.

The Central Atlantic region was the most expensive at $2.900 per gallon, while the least expensive diesel was found in the Gulf Coast region at $2.724 per gallon.
