Webb Wheel Products Inc. has published a new brochure outlining the features and benefits of the Webb Vortex lightweight cast iron brake drum recently introduced to the commercial vehicle market.

Included is a description of the drum's patent-pending design, which results in a drum that weighs approximately 12 pounds less than standard heavy-duty brake drums without sacrificing strength and durability. Graphics show how the external fins conduct heat away from the brake surface for superior heat dissipation and a cooler running drum. Results from FMCSS 121 brake recovery, performance, and power testing are shown as well, and illustrate how the Webb Vortex brake drum can outperform other light weight brake drums.
