Optima is Bulk Tank Inc's new and improved 100% American-made check valve for pneumatic systems. Prior to Optima, check valves were heavy, flow-restrictive, and caused a constant risk of load contamination, according to BTI officials.

BTI's Optima Check Valve offers solutions to these problems. Fewer parts and smarter construction enables a lightweight valve, and a unique bell design, conical poppet, and fewer supports allow for increased airflow and no turbulence. Optima's spring housing and guide bushings make load contamination virtually impossible, according to BTI officials.

The coil spring, which provides over twice the cycling as conventional torsion springs, is fully enclosed. If the spring ever fails there is no risk of contamination to the product being conveyed. The conical poppet used in the Optima provides a smooth airflow stream. The bell-shaped housing and conical poppet result in less back pressure and turbulence than conventional torsion spring or lift check valves on the market today, according BTI officials.

The new Optima Check Valve will be available in June 2012 and will be offered in 3- and 4-inch sizes.
