South Gate CA-based Titan Industries has acquired Kern Polymeric Products in Salisbury NC. Founded 26 years ago, Kern designs and fabricates large-diameter hand-built hose products.

Buddy Pepp, president of Titan, said, "Kern will remain a stand-alone company, retain its current name, and continue to operate in the same fashion, but will be a Titan Industries-owned company."

Titan already is planning an upgrade of the 20,000-square-foot Kern plant's manufacturing equipment along with computer systems and other infrastructure. Kern products are marketed through independent sales representatives to industrial hose distributors, mostly in the eastern and midwestern United States.

Founded 24 years ago, Titan manufactures machine- as well as hand-built industrial hose products. Titan manufactures its hand built hose products in its Exacta facility in Commerce City CO. Besides Exacta and now its Kern facility, Titan has hose manufacturing plants in Spring TX and South Gate. It maintains distribution facilities in Houston TX, Seattle WA, Elmhurst IL, New Brunswick NJ, and Stone Mountain GA.
