Heil constructs dry bulk trailer for TransWood

Aug 1, 2002 12:00 PM

Heil Trailer International has completed a 1,773-cubic-foot dry bulk trailer for TransWood Inc. This unit was designed and built specifically for hauling cement, fly ash, and other cement-related products and is configured for operation in Michigan.

Heil met the customer's design criteria, including 25-psi operating pressure and a 50-ton payload requirement without a double trailer setup. The unit features the heavy-duty Hendrickson AA300 30,000-lb air-ride suspension and axle system and has four fixed axles and four lift axles controlled by the new Hendrickson AK AD1001 lift control system. These trailers also feature pneumatically operated product valves with dual-action cylinders controlled from a central location. Flip-switch controls are in a fabricated aluminum cabinet with pressure gauges for easy operator access.
