Heil to build 981 refueling trucks for US Army

Aug 1, 2002 12:00 PM

Heil Trailer International recently received an order from the United States Army for M-967 and M-969 refueling trucks that will extend for the next four years. The total contract will be for 981 total units.

Heil is using special cast-aluminum Nordic-manufactured manifolds, previously used on these trailers for more than 10 years. These manifolds ensure consistency in the plumbing of each unit, thereby reducing OEM labor costs. Manifolds are tested and treated with an aluminum chromate conversion coating as per MIL-C-5541. Each M-969 unit also includes two Nordic hose reels, similar to the TACOM reels supplied in previous years. Model # EP3909-25-10J12FR is a 24-volt gear-driven reel for 60' × 114" hose.
