Yokohama Tire Corporation (YTC) announced the establishment of a new subsidiary, Yokohama Tire Mexico S de RL de CV (Sociedad De Responsabilidad Limitada De Capital Variable), incorporated in Silao, Guanajuato, Mexico. The subsidiary was created to meet demand for consumer, commercial, and OTR tires in Mexico and is expected to provide YTC with sales, distribution, and business logistical advantages.

Yokohama Tire Mexico, or YTMX, will be headed by 45-year tire veteran Gary Nash (pictured), who has been appointed president of the new company. Nash was previously vice-president of YTC’s OTR sales, where he will now take on the new title of executive advisor to OTR sales and marketing.

YTC is the North American manufacturing and marketing arm of Tokyo, Japan-based The Yokohama Rubber Co Ltd, a global tire manufacturing and sales company. Servicing a network of more than 4,500 points of sale in the United States, YTC has a product line that includes the new AVID Ascend—a tire using Yokohama’s orange oil technology—as well as tires for light truck, commercial truck and bus, and off-road mining and construction applications.
