Webtech Wireless Inc, a leading provider of vehicle fleet location-based services (LBS) and telematics technology, now offers Hours of Service (HOS) Oil Well Waiting capability that enables fleets in the oil and gas sector greater flexibility tracking HOS. This latest oil and gas feature is available on the Company's MDT 3100 In-Cab solution.

With Oil Well Waiting, drivers can track time waiting at a well site without it counting against their HOS time limit. This capability ensures fleets can remain competitive while complying with FMCSA HOS regulations.

"This feature is designed with drivers in mind,” says Ernie Chatham, vice-president, Quadrant Products and Services at Webtech Wireless. “It's easy to use and the interface and workflow are simple, allowing for quick training, simple implementation, and immediate cost savings."

Oil Well Waiting, an oilfield exception, is designed specifically to comply with the US Oil and Gas rule, Oil Well Servicing Rule 395.1d section 2, which makes the provision that "on-duty time shall not include waiting time at a natural gas or oil well site."

"Previously, Oil and Gas fleet operators needing an exemption for well waiting could only use paper logs,” says Scott Edmonds, president and chief executive officer of Webtech Wireless. “With this new capability, our award-winning GPS fleet tracking solution is not only more appealing but offers an even more compelling ROI to a greater segment of the Oil and Gas market."
