Jay Morfitt has joined Heil Trailer International as the director of sales and marketing, and he will report to Greg Heyer, vice-president of global sales, marketing, and customer service. He has 23 years of experience in sales, marketing, brand management, supply chain, operations, logistics, and strategic planning.

Meritor Inc has appointed John Nelligan general manager, OEM sales and national accounts, replacing Dennis Kline, who recently retired from the company after 36 years. Nelligan most recently served as general manager, North American field operations, and brings more than 20 years of industry experience to the role. Meritor has appointed Matthew Stevenson general manager, North American field operations and marketing, effective immediately. Prior to joining Meritor in 2010, Stevenson spent nearly 10 years at Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) and held executive-level positions in marketing, sales, and product strategy. Meritor has appointed Krista Sohm vice-president, communications, effective immediately. Lin Cummins, formerly senior vice-president of communications at Meritor for nearly 13 years, has elected to retire from the firm at the end of 2011, at which time she will explore other communications endeavors. Sohm has been with Meritor since 2000, most recently serving as senior director of corporate communications.

Polar Corporation has appointed Warren Wick to the new position of director, human resources. He comes to Polar from Ashley Furniture in Arcadia WI, where he served as vice-president of human resources.

CST Industries Inc announced that Steven Westfall has been named president of CST Storage, the company's storage systems division. Prior to joining CST Storage, Westfall served as president and chief executive officer of Detroit Tool Metal Products in Lebanon MO. CST Industries announced that Joseph Kerner has been named president of Temcor Conservatek, the company's specialty cover division. Kerner previously served as chief operating officer of The Oilgear Co in Milwaukee WI. He will lead TemcorConservatek from the company's Conroe TX offices.

Fontaine Fifth Wheel has promoted Robbie Laney to product manager. Laney, who has experience in product development, customer support, cost analysis, and engineering, joined the firm in 2010 as a product sales engineer.

Jean-Claude Robillard, who dedicated 35 years to the tank business from chemical to foodgrade tanks and trailers, has retired effective in March 2011. In 1976, he started working for A&L Tougas, which became Tremcar Inc in 1989. He spent most of those years in sales, traveling extensively in the United States and Canada.

Ridewell Suspensions has added Matthew Koontz to the engineering team as project manager. A graduate of the Missouri University of Science and Technology, he comes to the company with more than 10 years of design experience.

Eaton Corporation has formed a new Global Aftermarket and Clutch Business Unit and named John Beering as its vice-president and general manager. He was previously vice-president and general manager of clutch and aftermarket for Eaton's truck business.

Fleet Advantage has named Daniel E Umphress vice-president of fleet services, effective immediately, and he will be based in the company's corporate headquarters in Fort Lauderdale FL. Previously, he served as managing director, vehicle solutions for FedEx Freight Systems and vice-president, fleet maintenance for American Freightways. He is a director-at-large on the board of directors of the Technology and Maintenance Council.
