Heil Trailer International announced that Brian Climer has accepted the position of director-global customer service. Working out of the Global Support Center in Cleveland TN, he will report to Greg Heyer, vice-president-global sales, marketing, and customer service. Climer joins Heil after an 18-year career with Cummins Inc and Volvo Powertrain.

OPW, a Dover company, announced that Steve Stewart has joined its sales team as the new eastern Canada district manager responsible for the provinces of Quebec, Ontario, and Nova Scotia and based in Guelph, Ontario. With more than 20 years of petroleum industry experience, he joins OPW after most recently serving as business development manager-Canada for Dresser Wayne.

Polar Corporation announced that Scott Fike, vice-president of petroleum products for Polar Tank, has retired after nearly 50 years in heavy-duty trailer manufacturing. Fike, who joined Polar in 1994, was named vice-president of petroleum products in June 1998. He previously held management positions at Fruehauf Trailer and has been a member of the National Tank Truck Carriers and ASM International. Dave Reuter announced that he will retire from Polar effective June 30. Based in Dallas TX, he served as regional sales manager for customers in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, New Mexico, Mississippi, and Arkansas for 28 years. Reuter will be succeeded by Tom Phillips as regional sales manager. Polar named Russ Weybright vice-president of supply chain management. Based at the company's Opole MN manufacturing facility, he is responsible for procurement, planning, and logistics at Polar Tank Trailers and Polar Service Centers businesses. A 30-year veteran of supply chain management and plant operations, he previously formed his own consulting firm in 2006.

Michael Reardon has been named vice-president of sales for Mack Trucks Inc to succeed Michael McNally, who is retiring after 39 years with the company. With more than 20 years of sales and marketing experience, Reardon has been Mack's vice-president of marketing for the past three years. He will continue to be based at the firm's world headquarters in Greensboro NC.

John J Flynn, chief executive officer of Fleet Advantage, was awarded the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2011 in the “Emerging” category, announced at an awards ceremony in Orlando FL recently. He is now eligible for consideration for the Entrepreneur of the Year National Award, to be announced at a Palm Springs CA ceremony in November.

Volvo Financial Services Region the Americas announced that Tom Guse has been promoted to president of Volvo Financial Services for operations in the United States. He has been with Volvo Financial Services since 2007 and has more than 25 years in captive finance company experience. His previous role was vice-president of truck financial services, with responsibility for truck finance sales in the United States.

Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) announced the appointment of Dave Giroux as director, public relations and corporate communications, a newly created senior role. He joins DTNA after serving as Meritor Inc's director of global brand management and marketing communications.

Alcoa Wheel and Transportation Products named Scott Kerns vice-president and general manager, commercial vehicle wheels, Europe, Japan, and South Africa, and he will be based in Hungary. Kerns was previously vice-president and general manager, Alcoa transportation products. Merrick Murphy was named vice-president and general manager, commercial vehicle wheels, Americas and Pacific Rim, and he will be based in the Independence OH office. Previously, he served as vice-president of sales, commercial vehicle wheels, Americas. Victor Marquez will expand his role from vice-president and general manager, forged specialty wheels to vice-president and general manager, forged specialty wheels and transportation products.

Bob Albano has joined Webb Wheel Products OEM Business Unit as account executive. He came to the company from Terenine Technology Solutions, where he helped grow its transportation sector business.
