OPW Fluid Transfer Group's Global Transportation Business Unit has announced the appointment of Simon Hill to director of cargo tank operations and engineering.

OPW Fluid Transfer Group's Global Transportation Business Unit has announced the appointment of Simon Hill to director of cargo tank operations and engineering. Since mid-2009, Hill has been director of the Global Cargo Tank/Truck Business Unit, a position that was created in conjunction with OPW FTG's reorganization. Chris Gooding has joined the Civacon/Knappco and Sure Seal family as director of global cargo tank sales and marketing. Gooding served the past three years with Zotefoams Inc, Walton KY, as vice-president of sales and marketing. Shawn Duvall has been appointed technical sales and marketing manager for Civacon/Knappco and Sure Seal products. He has had roles with Civacon/Knappco in manufacturing, international-sales coordination, and product management over the past 16 years.

Labelmaster announced that Bob Richard has joined Labelmaster Services as vice-president of governmental affairs. He previously served as deputy associate administrator for hazardous materials safety with the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) at the US Department of Transportation, chairman of the United Nations Subcommittee of Experts on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, and chairman and vice-chairman of the ICAO Dangerous Goods Panel.

SAF-Holland has named Carl Mesker vice-president-aftermarket (Americas). He has more than 22 years of heavy-duty transportation experience and most recently was director of product planning and market development for the firm's Aftermarket Business Unit.

Annette M Sandberg will join the law firm of Scopelitis, Garvin, Light, Hanson & Feary as a counsel in the firm's office to be established in Spokane WA. She is a former deputy administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Sandberg joins the Scopelitis firm's Regulatory, DOT, and Hazardous Materials Compliance team that includes Tim Wiseman, Norm Garvin, Andy Light, Bill Brejcha, Bob Henry, and Jeff Jackson.

Ryder System Inc has named Sheryl Pattek vice-president of marketing for its Fleet Management Solutions (FMS) business segment. She reports directly to John Gleason, Ryder's senior vice-president of sales and marketing for FMS. With more than 20 years of experience in marketing strategy and management., Pattek comes to Ryder from Océ North America, where she served as vice-president of marketing services for production printing systems. Ryder has named Gregory Knott vice-president of information technology (IT) for its Supply Chain Solutions (SCS) business segment. He joins the firm following a more than 35-year career in IT, most recently as chief information officer for Hummer LLC in Detroit MI.

Mike Short, who previously served as a district sales manager with Accuride Corp, has been appointed its sales manager for national fleets. Mike Buggy, Mike Carroll, and Ray Fanti recently joined Accuride as district sales managers, located respectively in Wisconsin, Georgia, and Massachusetts. Buggy most recently served as parts manager with Alliance Trailer. Carroll previously served as national fleet manager for Webasto, and Fanti most recently was parts sales manager with Navistar.

inthinc Technology Solutions Inc has appointed Peter Winston Allen senior vice-president of global sales. With more than 22 years of experience in directing sales, he joins inthinc from GreenRoad Technologies, where he served as the company's general manager of North America.

Fusion Sleep announced that Ernie Riddle, global transportation and logistics executive and former president of Ryder International, has joined Fusion Sleep's Transportation Business Advisory Board. He is also a partner of Progility Partners LLC.
