Robert Heistand, Miranda McMas, and Karl Kronquist run Southcoast Container Services in Jacksonville FL. Behind them is the two-bay foodgrade wash rack they opened late last year. The facility also provides container storage and has the potential to add chemical tank cleaning and rail transload services.
Miranda McMas washes the exterior of a Bulkmatic dry bulker that is getting a foodgrade cleanout at Southcoast Container Services.
For foodgrade cleaning, Southcoast Container Services chose a single-pass, high-pressure/low-volume cleaning unit from The Peacock Company Inc.
SafeRack supplied the stairs and work platform with gangways outfitted with fall-protection cages that drop down around the trailer domelid.
Peacock supplied the pressure washer system for the foodgrade bays.
Miranda McMas drew on previous wash rack experience to design user-friendly workstations for parts cleaning in the wash rack.
Foodgrade tank cleaning is handled with nozzle units from Spraying Systems Co.
Fall protection from DBI/Sala is attached to longitudinal beams over each wash bay.
Southcoast’s wastewater treatment system was supplied by Agribusiness & Water Technology Inc.
