Dennis Day, a driver for DistTech Inc based in Seville OH and a resident of Newbury OH, was recently honored by the Ohio Trucking Association (OTA) as a Driver of the Month for 2009. He received his award at the OTA's annual Safety Awards Banquet recently. Day was one of 12 drivers chosen for Driver of the Month based on such criteria as safety record, years of service and community contributions. A professional truck driver for more than 30 years, he has accumulated nearly 1.5 million miles without an accident.

Dover Corporation's Pump Solutions Group (PSG) announced that Walter Bonnett has been promoted to vice-president of PSG Marketing and will report directly to PSG President Dean Douglas. Bonnett has 10 years of experience in industrial marketing and the pump industry with Wilden and PSG.
OPW Fueling Containment Systems, a division of OPW Fueling Components, has named Charles “Chuck” Liebal product manager. He has held key positions in product development and project management within the petroleum business. Liebal will report directly to Mike McCann, OPW Fueling Containment Systems president.
ArvinMeritor Inc announced that Matthew Stevenson has been appointed director of marketing for the company's Truck business unit, and director for the joint venture Meritor WABCO Vehicle Control Systems. He most recently served as director of the Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) light commercial vehicle group. ArvinMeritor also has named John Nelligan as Canadian regional director-North American field operations and Rick Decaire as Eastern regional sales director for the Aftermarket business. Nelligan joined ArvinMeritor earlier in 2010 as a director of the Specialty business unit. Decaire was most recently Eastern area director for the Northeast and eastern Canada region.
Carl Heikel was named senior vice-president-international operations for Mack Trucks Inc. Based in Greensboro NC, he will report to Dennis Slagle, Mack president and chief executive officer. Since 2004, Heikel has served as president and CEO of Arrow Truck Sales.
Volvo Trucks North America has named Ron Huibers senior vice-president-sales and marketing. He has been with the Volvo Group for 15 years, most recently as senior vice-president of international operations for Mack Trucks Inc. Scott Kress has been named Volvo Trucks' vice-president-sales. With more than 30 years of industry experience, he served most recently as senior vice-president-sales and marketing. Russ Tedder has been named senior vice-president-truck remarketing. He has more than 30 years of industry experience, working most recently as vice-president-fleet sales.
ChemLogix Global LLC has appointed Bill Maro director, international sales, and he will be based at ChemLogix's headquarters in Blue Bell PA. Maro has served in custom brokerage and freight forwarding business development management capacities over a 10-year period with C-Air/Stile Logistics.
Bridgestone Americas Inc (BSAM) announced that Dan MacDonald, executive director of communications, has been promoted to vice-president, community and corporate relations. He assumes the role previously held by Christine Karbowiak, who was promoted to the newly created position of chief administrative officer. Succeeding MacDonald is Don Darden, who was most recently director of media relations. Former Dye, Van Mol, and Lawrence (DVL) account executive Elizabeth Lewis has joined BSAM as a public relations coordinator, and former Tennessean reporter Angela Patterson has been named digital media coordinator.
Arrow Truck Sales Inc announced that Steve Clough has been named president and chief executive officer. He succeeds Carl Heikel, who is now leading international operations for Mack Trucks Inc. Clough, who began his career with White Motor Company in 1980, has served as Arrow's chief financial officer since the company was acquired by Volvo.
Phillips Industries has promoted Ron Alvarez to OEM/OES and international sales manager. He joined Phillips in 2008 as OES and international sales manager from DENSO Sales California Inc, where he held a variety of sales and product management positions.
