Meritor Inc is pleased to announce that Bynum Transport of Auburndale FL is specifying Meritor's MTA 23 air-ride suspension, Q Plus drum brakes, ABS with Meritor WABCO Roll Stability Support (RSS), and automatic slack adjusters on its latest Walker Stainless tank trailer order.

For more than 40 years, Bynum Transport has provided specialized tank truck transportation of foodgrade liquid bulk commodities. Bynum has been specifying Meritor truck components since the 1980s, but these new tankers will be their first with Meritor trailer components included.

“We've had a long-standing relationship with Meritor,” says Gary Brinkley, safety director, Bynum Transport. “Their quality products and outstanding customer service has certainly benefited our fleet. Once we tested the MTA trailer suspension and received positive feedback from our drivers about how well they pulled and handled, we were sold on adding them to our trailers. An added incentive was the ease of maintaining the suspensions once they are in service.”

Meritor MTA air-ride suspensions are available for a broad range of vocational trailers. It is the lightest 23K suspension in its class and features patented pivot bushings, large bore high-damping shock absorbers, a patent pending axle wrap design and genuine Meritor axles and brakes, according to Meritor officials. The result is superior suspension durability, lower maintenance costs, increased payload capacity, better tire wear from more consistent tire-to-road contact and a softer ride with superior cargo protection.
