Heil Trailer International is focused on growth by developing talent within the organization while infusing new talent from outside. Over the past few months, Heil has filled several key positions with a focus on external talent infusion.

Rich Strickland joined the organization in November 2010 as vice-president of human resources. Strickland brings over 20 years of HR leadership experience with United Technologies Corporation and is focused on process improvement and talent development.

Also new to Heil is James Means, Rhome TX facility plant manager. Means joined Heil after a career with PACCAR and brings a focus on lean tools and processes. Ted Bullock, a former Heil Environmental employee, joins the Heil team as the corporate controller after a six-year stint with Pathway Polymers.

The folks at Heil Tank Services (HTS), Heil's dealer and service center in Louisville KY aren't sitting still, either. Phillip Sullivan brings his 10-plus years of experience to work inside part sales and Art Garman is the newly appointed distribution center manager. Garman brings a logistics background from more than 20 years with the US Air Force and with Coca-Cola. The combined expertise of Sullivan and Garman will take Heil and HTS to the next level in distribution and customer service.

While the external talent infustion has been important, Heil has not lost sight of developing and promoting from within. Bill Harris, formerly the corporate business development manager, was recently promoted to the position of director government sales and business development when Karl Stabenow retired in March.

In another internal promotion, Tim Davis was appointed to the newly created position of director of financial planning and analysis. Davis, a 14 year plus Heil veteran, will also be involved in business development assisting HTI's president and chief financial officer in analyzing potential growth platforms and acquisition candidates.

All in all Heil Trailer International added more than 200 employees last year and all indications are that the growth will continue, according to company officials.
