The Haldex remanufacturing facility in Marion NC is celebrating 25 years of being green. Since 1985, this remanufacturing facility has been saving the environment 80% of the energy that would have been used to manufacture a comparable new part.

George Trapp, Haldex remanufactured product manager, said, “Remanufacturing preserves the value of the original manufacturing-including energy costs, waste disposal, and investment in capital and labor inputs — which recycling alone cannot do. The process consists of taking used vehicle parts, completely disassembling and thoroughly cleaning them, replacing worn components with original quality or better components, and restoring them to their original function.”

By remanufacturing, this Haldex facility reduces the total amount of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere because of the inherent energy conservation and limits the amount of refuse to be disposed of in landfills.

Haldex also congratulates 30-plus employees who have worked at the facility for more than 20 years.
