Bendix expands brake school curriculum

Sept. 18, 2013

Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC has expanded its curriculum at the Bendix On-Line Brake School. Since opening access to its knowledge database and technical resources in March, the firm continues to add a wide range of new or updated courses to its curriculum covering all aspects of electronics and air brake maintenance.

The website, www.brake-school.com, features a dynamic menu of five- to seven-minute video segments, as well as a range of other training tools on all aspects of electronics and air brake maintenance. New content—generally uploaded bimonthly—includes courses on air compressors, tire pressure monitoring systems, wheel-end maintenance, and radar alignment for active safety systems.

The on-line school, open to registrations from both companies and individuals, currently serves more than 7,000 registered users, with new participants signing up weekly.

Course material on www.brake-school.com is covered in detailed documents, videos, and other interactive presentation modules, allowing students to review the information at their own pace and on their own schedule. Knowledge checks at the end of each course measure what has been learned. The password-protected site offers a variety of access levels, most of which enable companies to track their registered technicians’ and employees’ participation and progress.

In addition to the Bendix interactive Air Brake Training course, the brake-school.com curriculum covers the full spectrum of braking and active vehicle safety system product topics from overall education on product features and operation to troubleshooting, diagnostics, and maintenance best practices. Other content includes segments addressing highway safety, emissions regulations, and the federal RSD mandate.
