May 10, 2017

Wabash National Corporation was  honored with two 2016 Plant Safety Awards from the Truck Trailer Manufacturers Association (TTMA) for operations in Wisconsin and Mexico that manufacture Walker, Brenner, and Bulk brand tank trailers. These operations also build other diverse products, such as silos, tank heads, processors, and mixer vessels, under the Walker Engineered Products brand.

“We’re thrilled to be recognized by TTMA once again for exemplary safety performance,” said Dave Hill, vice-president and general manager, tank trailers. “Safety is our number one value and priority at Wabash National, and this recognition is a testament to the operational excellence our associates deliver every day. I congratulate our entire team for a job well done.”

This was the 11th year Wabash National’s Tank Trailer business has been awarded a plant safety award from TTMA. The awards were presented to Hill and Mark Weber, group president, diversified products, on April 26 during TTMA’s 75th Annual Convention in Amelia Island FL.

Award determinations are based on direct comparison of injury data from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Annual Summary Form 300A, the same data used by the National Safety Council and the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Awards are given to tank and trailer manufacturers based on the number of man-hours worked. The company’s New Lisbon WI operations won in Category B for plants that reported between 300,000 and 750,000 man-hours. The operations in San José Iturbide, Guanajuato, Mexico, won in Category C for plants that reported fewer than 300,000 man-hours.

This year marks the 46th presentation of TTMA’s Plant Safety Awards.
