Sherman Bros acquires MWTI bulk chemical ops

Sherman Bros Heavy Trucking, based in Harrisburg OR, announced the acquisition of Mike Werner Trucking Inc's (MWTI), bulk chemical division into the Sherman Bros family of businesses, which includes Team Transport, acquired in 2000; Sound Transportation, acquired in 2005; and TCT, acquired in 2008.

A diversified asset-based and logistics transportation provider, Sherman Bros operates in all 48 states, but primarily runs in 11 western states and three western Canadian provinces. Currently Sherman Bros services the building products, wood products, steel, flat glass, chemical, and machinery industries.

MWTI specializes in heavy bulk chemical loads, servicing the Pacific Northwest's paper and refinery businesses since the early 1990s.

Sherman Bros will maintain the MWTI yard in Vancouver WA for the remainder of 2009, with customer service and dispatching of loads and equipment being done through the corporate facility in Harrisburg.
