Transportation management software providers Maddocks Systems and TMW Systems have joined Qualcomm Inc's Advisory Council to further development of its untethered trailer asset management system for the transportation and logistics industry.
Qualcomm's consortium, created in August 2003, consists of executives from leading companies in transportation and mobile asset driven industries. The Advisory Council consists of partners with a charter to provide integration capabilities from trailer installation to the customer's back-office enterprise.
The untethered trailer asset management system will improve trailer utilization and provide enhanced security for high-value or high-security-risk loads by providing on-board hardware, advanced power management, network services, sensors, and data integration capabilities using tri-mode (digital cellular, PCS, and analog) communications.
