Hundreds of emergency responders are expected to participate in hazmat incident training during the 2006 Norfolk Southern Corp Whistle Stop Tour scheduled September 18-22, beginning in Baltimore MD and ending in Cincinnati OH.
Intermediate stops will be conducted in Harrisburg PA, Pittsburgh PA, and Columbus OH. Both hands-on and classroom training sessions will be offered at each stop. The train will include safety training cars from Dupont, the Firefighters Education and Training Foundation, and Norfolk Southern equipment.
Many other chemical companies, environmental contractors, truck carriers, and emergency response agencies will provide demonstration equipment, emergency response equipment, and displays. The program will run each day from 9 am to 3 pm.
