Vopak Industrial Services, Houston, Texas, has opened an industrial waste service facility in Mauldin, South Carolina, says Michael Dilick, vice-president and general manager. The facility is a joint venture with Fletcher Engineering, Greenville, South Carolina.

Vopak invested $1.5 million in improvements to the facility formerly owned by Dow Chemical Company. It has the capacity to handle two million gallons of waste per month. Treatment processes include biological, physical/chemical, and solidification, Other services include sludge solidification, consumer products, and drum and tote disposal.

The facility will receive wastes via tank trucks, totes, and drums from chemical and industrial manufactures, as well as from tank cleaning facilities.
