Vopak expands Singapore terminal for biodiesel

Royal Vopak, Rotterdam, the Netherlands, has announced an expansion projects for biodiesel storage and terminaling in Banyan, Singapore.

The storage capacity will total 105,000 cubic meters (660,430 barrels), bringing the total storage capacity of the Banyan Terminal to 535,000 cbm (3.36 million barrels) by the end of 2007. The terminal also handles various chemicals and petroleum products.

Vopak Terminals Singapore has signed a long term contract with Natural Fuel Pte Ltd to support the logistics for the new biodiesel plant on Jurong Island, close to the Banyan Terminal. The plant and logistic infrastructure, including two additional jetties, will be operational by the second half of 2007.
