STI has obtained Underwriters Laboratories (UL) approval for the new AquaSweep gravity oil/water separator. Tested and listed according to UL Subject 2215, Outline of Investigation for Oil/Water Separators, AquaSweep is available in five models. Testing has also been successfully performed to ULC-S656, Standard for Oil-Water Separators, and STI also is pursuing formal listing with ULC.

AquaSweep Gravity Oil Water Separators are designed for gravity removal of non-emulsified hydrocarbon lightweight oils with a specific gravity of less than 1.0 and related petroleum products from storm water runoff. When an AquaSweep separator is used in the wastewater stream, sludge and other matter settles and accumulates at the bottom of the tank compartment. Oil rises within the tank and collects at the top, where it can be pumped off. The remaining, cleaned water flows through the tank and outlet pipe, where it can be further processed or discharged into the wastewater system.
