A complimentary letter from Michael Mobley, a community member, set in motion special recognition for Transport Service Co, one of Dow Corning's preferred bulk carriers. Mobley works in Louisville KY and has lived for about a year in Ghent KY, just northwest of Dow Corning's Carrollton plant.

"I travel every day up and down US 42 and pass the Dow Corning plant at least twice a day, if not more," Mobley wrote. "Your drivers have impressed me thoroughly, without an exception over the past year! They make the proper stops at every single railroad crossing . . . I have never seen one of your drivers try and beat the light, speed, cross centerlines, or pull out in front of another vehicle . . . Your trucks are very clean and appear to be very well-maintained . . . From my perspective, your company has a top-notch operation and service!"

In part due to Mobley's letter, Gary Anderson, president and chief executive officer of Dow Corning, presented a letter to Jack Crowe, owner of Transport Service, recognizing the firm's excellent performance related to the Responsible Care distribution code. Anderson's letter was presented to Transport Service at a luncheon at Dow Corning's corporate center in Midland MI recently.

In appreciation, Dow Corning also presented shirts for drivers associated with Dow Corning. These shirts included logos for Dow Corning, Transport Service Co, and Responsible Care, with the words "Responsible Care Partners."
