WeatherSentry goes on duty

DTN Weather Services/Meteorlogix has released WeatherSentry, a new weather display system to help recreation, transportation, construction, emergency management and utility entities maximize personal safety and minimize financial loss. DTN Weather Services became Meteorlogix as of Oct 23, 2001.

WeatherSentry is a subscription-based service that allows businesses to benefit from real-time weather graphics with active storm tracking and weather alerting in a PC platform. It can be expanded as client needs change. WeatherSentry provides access to National Weather Service radar images that are updated every five minutes; plus local, regional, and national outlooks and storm tracking capabilities from DTN Weather Services/Meteorlogix. The system complements the firm's StormSentry product by providing local real-time weather information without the configuration needed for StormSentry's custom weather options.

  • Retrofitting applying emissions filters and catalysts to existing vehicles and equipment.

  • Refueling — using cleaner diesel fuels or emissions-reducing fuel additives.

  • Rebuilding — taking existing engines and upgrading them with hardware and/or software changes.

  • Repowering — replacing older engines with new lower-emitting engines.

  • Retirement — replacing old equipment with new equipment that has lower-emitting engines.

An adjunct to the Environmental Protection Agency web site, the web site will provide current and breaking retrofit news, commitments, and links.
