Tankspan Leasing Ltd has become the latest company to implement specialist intermodal management software from Real Asset Management plc (RAM). The United Kingdom-headquartered tank container lessor has replaced its previous system with RAM's Rental4000 system, developed specifically for the international tank and container leasing industries.

Founded in 1996, Tankspan now controls a lease fleet of 3,200 tank containers in various specifications, including units for the carriage of foodstuffs, chemicals, and liquefied and refrigerant gases. Equipment is leased under a range of term contracts, including operating lease and lease purchase. Fleet administration and marketing is managed by the company's central office in Surrey, UK, supported by a worldwide network of agencies and depot facilities.

With a growing client base and an ongoing new production program for both standard and special equipment, the company wanted to ensure that it had the right systems in place to support future expansion.

“Tankspan is a well-established leasing company with administration and systems which have met all needs to date,” says managing director David Moon. “However, we are now looking to the future as regards additional fleet growth.”
