Alcoa Wheel Products has promoted Peter A Miller to northwestern territory sales manager. He joined Alcoa in 1995 as sales representative for western Canada. Andrew Duso has been appointed territory sales manager for the central states/Great Lakes region. Duso joined Alcoa as Midwest territory fleet sales representative in 1999.

Associations Alan B Messing, vice-president of marketing, TIP Intermodal Services, has succeeded Thomas L Hardin as chairman of the Intermodal Association of North America (IANA). George G Baima, vice-president-sales and marketing, Central States Trucking, was elected vice-chairman. William C Duray, director-domestic marketing, NYK Line (North America) Inc, was elected treasurer. Elected to serve as Intermodal Marketing Company Division Board representative is Daniel D Smith, president, General Freight Services Inc. The Rail Division elected William K Berry, vice-president, Canadian National Railway, to fill that division's vacancy on the board. Michael J Winchester, vice-president-equipment management, Railpool Division of Interpool Inc, was re-elected to an at-large position. Newly appointed director David L Howland, vice-president and general manager-Rail Division, C H Robinson Co, is starting a three-year term. Richard C Coleman, president of ContainerPort Group Inc, was named to fill the IANA board position vacated by Elizabeth Ogard.

The Intermodal Association of North America (IANA) has awarded its annual Silver King Pin award to Thomas L Finkbiner, chief executive officer of Quality Distribution. Finkbiner is also chairman of the Intermodal Transportation Institute at the University of Denver.
