Hendrickson International Trailer Suspension Systems has added Kimm L Carr to its engineering staff as manager of product development. Lindsay Rice has been appointed graphic designer, based at the trailer division communications department in Canton OH. Carr comes from Wabash National Corp, where he served as manager of engineering for the Scott County Plant in Huntsville TN. Rice most recently was with Caterpillar Large Engine Center in Lafayette IN, where she served as design coordinator.

Tim Morscheck, formerly vice-president and general manager of the Trucking Electronic Systems Division at Eaton Corp, has been appointed vice-president chief technology officer for its Truck business unit. Josette Russell has been named to the newly created position of manager — marketing and business development. She had been manager — business systems deployment worldwide, at the Clutch Division. Chris Shemas has been appointed to the newly created position of sales manager — NAFTA. Most recently, Shemas was manager of OEM sales and marketing for Truck. Steve Melvin, named to the newly created position of manager — service product development, most recently was manager of truck service and support.

Grote Industries Inc has promoted Jim Braun from vice-president of manufacturing to executive vice-president responsible for product development, production, and distribution. Eric Morris was named executive vice-president in charge of North American sales and marketing. He had previously been president of Grote Industries Canada. Dominic Grote has been named director of fleet/OEM sales. He most recently served as director of product development for the fleet/OEM division.

The Gates Rubber Co has formed a new business unit to coordinate its industrial hose marketing, customer service, product application, and development. Manager of the group is Dan Weitzel, who previously headed the hose and connector marketing department. Gates also named Karl Moritz its manager of hydraulic products. He has served in transmission marketing, industrial field sales, and global OEM and global product line management.

Effective after April 29, 2002, John B Dodge, chairman of the board of boiler manufacturer Burnham Corp for the past 13 years, will retire. He will be appointed chairman emeritus and continue to act as adviser to the board. Albert Morrison III will be elected chairman of the board in addition to his current responsibilities as president and chief executive officer. Donald E Sweigart, senior vice-president, will be elected executive vice-president and chief operating officer.

Tom O'Brien has been named vice-president of marketing at Dana Brake and Chassis. He previously served as operations manager of the Chassis Products Division.

Clean Air Partners (CAP) has named Daniel W Kabel chief executive officer. Paul Beck, former CAP president, will now serve as vice-president — low-emissions vehicles. Kabel previously held vice-presidential positions at Wärtsilä Diesel and was founder and general manager of GE Distributed Power.
