Qualcomm Inc's board of directors has approved the appointments of Anthony S Thornley as president and chief operating officer (COO) and William E Keitel

Qualcomm Inc's board of directors has approved the appointments of Anthony S Thornley as president and chief operating officer (COO) and William E Keitel as senior vice-president and chief financial officer (CFO). Thornley has served as Qualcomm's CFO since joining the company in 1994. He will retain his current position as COO in addition to new responsibilities as president. Keitel has served as senior vice-president and corporate controller since 1998.

Peter “Pete” Gallagher Jr, inside sales coordinator for Girard Equipment, died Jan 5, 2002, at age 39 from complications due to cancer. He is survived by his wife, Debra, and their three children: Peter, 11; Daniel, 10; and Megan, 7. To send a message of condolence to the family, e-mail [email protected].

ArvinMeritor has named Brent Robb manager of product and customer support. He held various management positions at Rockwell Automotive until 1995, when he joined Rockwell Automation. He returns to Rockwell Automotive, now ArvinMeritor.

Jordan Feiger, formerly vice-president and general manager of the severe-service vehicle center for International Truck and Engine Corp, has been named vice-president and general manager of the International heavy vehicle center. He replaces Dennis Webb, who is retiring. John Lamoureux becomes vice-president and general manager of the severe-service vehicle center. His most recent position was that of director of business planning and strategy for the joint International/Ford Blue Diamond venture.

Titan Industries has appointed Jim Kokinda territory sales manager for the Northeast Region and Joe Magaña territory sales manager for the South Texas Region. Kokinda served as an outside sales representative, product manager, and regional manager with the Goodall Rubber Co. Magaña spent 12 years as district sales manager for Thermoid HBD Industries.

Kevin Michel is TydenBrammall's new sales manager, covering a 10-state region in the central United States. He comes to the company after 13 years with Schneider Specialized Carriers.

Safety Vision has added Tina Dunbar, Mindy Porras, Nikki Jones, Sammy Almaguer, and Amber Telge to its sales team.
